Our Story
Punjab Tandoori began life on Wilmslow Road — Manchester's famous Curry Mile — in 1990, with one quiet ambition: to cook the food we grew up with.
What started as a small family venture in Rusholme soon became a Manchester favourite — known for generous hospitality, a lively open tandoor, and a menu that blended Indian classics with much-loved South Indian specials. Whole spices, roasted the morning of service. Onions browned slowly until they sweetened. Yoghurt marinades that rest overnight before they meet the heat of the clay tandoor. No shortcuts. No jarred pastes. Just patience and good ingredients.
After three decades on Manchester famous Curry Mile, we have opened up in the heart of Cheadle Village to provide the lovely community of Cheadle with proper Indian Food. Every recipe still carries a traditional touch — masalas roasted, marinades made fresh, and Naan and Roti slapped to the tandoor to order. The heart of the place is still the tandoor, glowing every night.
